The more I hear the uproar about illegal boats and marauding migrants swarming the British isles, the more the irony of history floods my already volatile and unbridled imagination. Suddenly, a familiar tune begins to etch itself into my subconscious mind. Rule Rule Britannia.... Britannia rules the waves.... Rule Britannia, it is the famous patriotic soundtrack composed by James Thomson back in 1740, it became the iconic song and chorus for the British navy on her quest to ravage and ransack nations "not so blessed" as her. If I were to be so ill fated as to have to infringe upon British waters by means of illegal boat entry, I would certainly not miss the opportunity to sing this song on my way into the country. It would be the most ironic and unexpectedly funny situation to witness.... 🎢🎡🎢 Κ€α΄œΚŸα΄‡, Κ™Κ€Ιͺα΄›α΄€Ι΄Ι΄Ιͺα΄€! Κ€α΄œΚŸα΄‡, Κ™Κ€Ιͺα΄›α΄€Ι΄Ι΄Ιͺα΄€! Κ€α΄œΚŸα΄‡ α΄›Κœα΄‡ α΄‘α΄€α΄ α΄‡κœ±!! 🎢🎡🎢 That tune didn't age well guys, but if ever I heard a swashbuckling little medley ☠️🦜⚓🏝️, this is certainly the joint. What a time to be alive. Who could have imagined that we would one day witness the 'counter-colonisation' of the great British empire? Seeing patriots panic as the mayor of London bans the display of British flags πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ on the iconic British cabs in London, only to pass an order for streets to be blocked off in certain parts of London for a 3 day celebration of Pakistani independence (from Britain) this coming week, Pakistani flags lining the streets and windows πŸ‡΅πŸ‡°πŸ‡΅πŸ‡°πŸ‡΅πŸ‡° in certain quarters of East London is about as dystopian as it gets. As a Londoner witnessing these unfolding events in real-time, it genuinely feels Orwellian. Without casting any judgments, I guess we can only stand by and observe as this dystopian script continues to get wilder and exponentially more bizarre by the day. Though admittedly, it's not heading towards a happy ending for anyone. Looking forward to the heavy censorship laws on the horizon. Enjoy the chaos while it lasts guys, this could be the end of free speech as we know it. In the meantime. Remind your local yokels of this wonderful jingle anytime they mouth off about illegal boats and immigrants. They won't be too eager to own up to these lyrics in 2024 πŸ˜‚ * These are serious times and I'm genuinely trying to be a better human being, however the comedic value and slapstick irony coming from these patriotic narratives is honestly too much to resist 🀭. Don't they see just how bad this looks and sounds from a historical perspective....

Battle of Plassey The  Battle of Plassey  was a decisive victory of the British  East India Company  over the  Nawab of Bengal  and his  French  allies on 23 June 1757, under the leadership of  Robert Clive  which was possible due to the defection of  Mir Jafar Ali Khan , who was Siraj-ud-Daulah's commander in chief.
