No it has not. Update on the Slavery presentation. It is nearly complete and will now be published early next week, in response to some witty comments - we will now extend the scale and scope of the presentation to analyse and assess the modern prison industrial complex as well as the Abolitionist movement and the Lincolnian liberation act. Make no mistake about it, SLAVERY is not something that will ever be completely eradicated from society and Islam is not only cognisant of this reality but also pragmatic about the confines and conditions under which such realities are to be confronted. (This is not going back on the original post against the statement that Islam did not diminish slavery, we acknowledge the reality without needing to become mascots and champions for the act itself, but there is no denial of the reality whatsoever. Everything is due balance and proportion) It would be less than wise to shut the door completely on what in essence is "captivity" (slavery is an antiquated and obsolete terms/convention), no nation on earth can go without prisons and any politician who proposes such a wild idea will be removed from power overnight. Obama promised to shut the world's most infamous prison during his presidential term, but has still not delivered. Why doesn't America (the supposed leading authority of global modern standards) shut down it's modern Slavery complex then?? In fact, slaves in Madinah at least had the freedom to walk in open environments, mingle with people and even contract marriages..... Until Guantanamo is shut down and the slaves released, we really have nothing to talk about Lookout for the video early next week insha'Allah In the meantime, thoughts below ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿป
